New revelations have emerged regarding the July 13th assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The man who fired shots at Trump, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed on the spot by Secret Service agents. Now, Rep. Clay Higgins has released a preliminary report that raises serious concerns about the handling of Crooks’ body and the FBI’s involvement in the case.
Higgins expressed shock when he discovered that Crooks’ body was no longer available for inspection. His report, as cited by the Daily Mail, read, “My effort to examine Crooks’ body on Monday, August 5, caused quite a stir and revealed a disturbing fact…the FBI released the body for cremation 10 days after (July 13)…On July 23, Crooks was gone.
Nobody knew this until Monday, August 5, including the County Coroner, law enforcement, Sheriff, etc.” This development led Higgins to accuse the FBI of obstructing the investigation. He wrote, “Yes, Butler County Coroner technically had legal authority over the body, but I spoke with the Coroner, and he would have never released Crooks’ body to the family for cremation or burial without specific permission from the FBI.”
Higgins elaborated further during an interview with Fox News Digital. “My report states the precise truth, which is that the coroner released Crooks’ body to the family for cremation only after the FBI had specifically authorized the coroner to release Crooks’ body to the family for cremation,” Higgins said. He also cast doubt on the accuracy of the coroner’s report and autopsy.
“We will actually never know. Yes, we’ll get the reports and pictures, etc., but I will not ever be able to say with certainty that those reports and pictures are accurate according to my own examination of the body.” The FBI has strongly denied any wrongdoing. A spokesperson assured the public, “Any suggestion the FBI is interfering with congressional efforts to look into the attempted assassination which took place in Butler, Pennsylvania, is inaccurate and unfounded.”
The FBI’s statement emphasized that they had followed all standard procedures and were collaborating with law enforcement partners. “The FBI continues its painstaking work on the investigation to develop as complete a picture as possible of what led to the shooting,” the spokesperson added.
However, Higgins’ claims have sparked unease and skepticism among some. Podcaster Chris Martenson voiced his concerns after reviewing the report, stating, “‘Disturbing’ doesn’t come close to describing this. It’s now ‘malfeasance’ until proven otherwise.” Similarly, Clint Russell, another podcaster, remarked, “The body of alleged Trump assassin, Crooks, has been cremated. The FBI released his body to the family just 10 days after the attack. As of today, the coroner’s report has still not been released. Cover. Up.”
As the investigation into the assassination attempt continues, the controversy surrounding the handling of Crooks’ body only adds to the complexity of the case. Higgins’ accusations have raised questions about transparency and accountability, leaving many wondering what really transpired in the aftermath of that fateful day in Butler, Pennsylvania.
