Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may have officially moved on from their headline-making divorce, but neither has reportedly jumped back into the dating pool since their split. While Lopez is said to be channeling her energy into her music career, Affleck is deeply immersed in work—so much so that it’s affecting his personal life.
According to a source who spoke to In Touch, Affleck has been pouring his energy into building Artists Equity, the production company he co-founded with longtime friend Matt Damon. The insider noted that this demanding new role has become a major roadblock to Affleck’s hopes of finding love again.
“The huge obstacle standing in front of Ben’s future plans, and even the sheer idea that he can raise more kids, is his insane work schedule and new role as a studio chief in his and Matt Damon‘s company, Artists Equity,” the insider claimed.
Affleck’s dedication to the company has reportedly left him with little time or energy for a social life. The source explained, “He has more employees to worry about than ever before and he’s juggling a number of different film projects as producer and director.”
Even though Affleck is said to be open to love and would “love to settle down and raise more kids,” the realities of his demanding workload are holding him back. “Eventually, he’s going to have to keep normal hours if he wants any kind of love life,” the source added.
As of now, however, a romantic comeback seems unlikely in the immediate future. “But right now he’s up to his chin in work commitments and if he wants a date, he needs somebody to set it up for him because he’s just not in the mode to go out and mingle,” the insider concluded.
While both Affleck and Lopez are keeping busy in their respective careers, fans will have to wait and see if either star decides to step back into the dating world. For now, it appears work comes first.
