Prince William has embarked on a significant engagement as the Prince of Wales, touring a college located on his Duchy of Cornwall, which he inherited from King Charles upon his kingship. During the visit, the future monarch not only engaged with students and faculty but also revealed a sweet tooth, discussing his and his wife’s dessert preferences.

As part of the tour, Prince William visited the college’s criminology department and stopped by Sam’s Café, managed by chef Darren Watson. According to PEOPLE!, Watson has been experimenting with recipes to discover the favorite desserts of the British Royal Family. During the visit, he offered Prince William a special refrigerated breakfast cake, a dessert made of chocolate, butter, sugar, cream, and biscuits. The cake is reminiscent of a layer from the prince’s wedding cake.

After being presented with the cake, William expressed his appreciation, saying, “Thank you very much, that’s very sweet of you, any kind of sweet thing I will take, I’m a sucker for anything chocolate and anything sweet.” His candid response provided a glimpse into his love for indulgent treats.

The prince didn’t stop there. He also revealed his wife, Kate Middleton’s, favorite dessert during the outing. When Chef Watson mentioned sticky toffee pudding, a popular British dessert, William responded enthusiastically with, “Very good,” confirming that the classic pudding is a favorite in their household.

This tour has been on Prince William’s schedule for some time but was delayed due to Kate Middleton’s recent health concerns. The delay was attributed to her ongoing recovery following a cancer battle, which had caused some of the couple’s engagements to be rescheduled. report from Page Six.

Prince William’s visit to the Duchy of Cornwall is not just a symbolic event but also a meaningful connection to the property he inherited as part of his royal duties. The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate established in 1337, which funds the public, charitable, and private activities of the Prince of Wales.

As William continues to take on more responsibilities in his role as heir to the throne, his public engagements, like this tour, showcase not only his commitment to his duties but also a more personal side, sharing lighthearted moments about his favorite indulgences with the public.
